02 The intervention
Six non-structural partitions were removed and all storage concentrated into a nine-metre run of joinery along the north facade, absorbing kitchen, wardrobes, desk and the route to the bathrooms. The terrace was drawn into the living room with joinery that folds fully back against the column. The slab was insulated from above with a lightweight screed, gaining 3 dB of acoustic separation between floors.
